- Le mathcore est traité comme une branche du metalcore et non comme un genre à part : Converge, Dillinger, Botch et Norma Jean en sont la fondation technique, et tous les classements les y rangent.
- Le deathcore est volontairement limité à quatre entrées — Suicide Silence, Whitechapel, Thy Art Is Murder, Lorna Shore. C'est un genre voisin assez fourni pour mériter son propre top plus tard, comme le dub et le ska sous le reggae.
- Les États-Unis occupent 72 %, et c'est la forme même du genre : le metalcore est né du hardcore américain, et seules la vague britannique des années 2010 (Architects, Bring Me the Horizon, While She Sleeps, Bury Tomorrow) et l'Australie (Parkway Drive, Northlane, Polaris) viennent l'équilibrer.
- Trois albums maximum par artiste — Converge, Dillinger, Architects, Bring Me the Horizon, Parkway Drive, Every Time I Die, Knocked Loose et While She Sleeps sont au plafond.
