- Croisement des 64 albums essentiels de BrooklynVegan (1964 à aujourd'hui), des charts 2 Tone et third wave de RateYourMusic et d'Album of the Year, du guide 2 Tone de Classic Pop, et de la couverture de la quatrième vague par Billboard et le Washington Post, 1963–2023.
- La première vague est plus maigre qu'elle ne devrait, et c'est structurel : le ska jamaïcain de 1962 à 1966 était une culture de 45 tours. Les Skatalites ont duré quatorze mois, Don Drummond et Roland Alphonso n'ont pratiquement pas d'albums, et les LP de l'époque sont le plus souvent des compilations montées après coup. Notre règle « pas de compilations » coûte ici Dance Craze, le live de 1981 qui a fixé le 2 Tone en images, et les Fabulous Greatest Hits de Prince Buster.
- Les États-Unis occupent 61 % de la liste, et c'est tout simplement la forme du genre : les troisième et quatrième vagues sont massivement américaines.
- Trois albums maximum par artiste — les Skatalites, The Beat, Sublime, Fishbone, les Bosstones, Less Than Jake, The Slackers et The Interrupters sont au plafond.
- Rancid reste au rayon punk : …And Out Come the Wolves porte « Time Bomb », mais c'est un disque punk qui fait du ska, pas l'inverse.
- Écartés de peu, ou retenus par un autre rayon : Rancid, Sublime & Rome, les Bodysnatchers (uniquement des 45 tours), Bim Skala Bim, Deal's Gone Bad, Los Auténticos Decadentes, Skaos.
